NYC Racial Justice Commission

Behinds the scene with Dr. Jennifer Jones Austin

At the forefront of a groundbreaking movement, we were entrusted with an inspiring task - creating a powerful brand for New York City's first-ever Racial Justice Commission. With a mission to connect with the city's diverse residents, we embarked on a journey to forge a meaningful identity for the Commission, which was tasked with examining the City’s Charter to identify structural racist barriers.

Drawing inspiration from the passion and determination of protesters' picket signs, we crafted a logo that symbolized unity and resilience. The logo became a rallying cry, representing the hopes and aspirations of a community coming together to drive positive change.

Our dedication didn't stop there. Developing a comprehensive brand identity and style guide, we ensured that every aspect of the commission's visual presence was cohesive and impactful. This allowed them to communicate their message clearly and authentically, touching the hearts of New Yorkers from all walks of life.

To make an unforgettable introduction, we set out to create a promo video that would echo the commission's vision and spotlight its inaugural commissioners.

The impact of our design work echoed through the streets of New York. From the iconic City Hall to the bustling subway corridors, the commission's brand was boldly displayed, leaving an indelible mark on the city's consciousness.

As we witnessed the community embrace the new brand, we knew we had played a part in igniting a movement that would shape the future of the city. Empowering change, one design at a time, we took pride in contributing to a more inclusive and equitable New York City.
