Columbia University — Teachers College

As the concept of diversity broadened in the early 2000s, Teachers College, an affiliate of Columbia University, realized the need for a fresh approach to student recruitment. To achieve this, they enlisted The Viney Group to help develop a new strategy that moved beyond focusing solely on race and ethnicity to encompass a variety of factors, including socio-economic background, gender, sexual orientation, and disability status.

From 2011-2015 Viney helped to develop effective messaging and design diversity-related admissions collateral and advertisements. Over those years, these efforts led to an overall increase in graduate school applications, particularly from applicants from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and southern states, contributing to a more diverse applicant pool and enrollment.
